Hero of God

Hi, I wrote a little poem titled “Hero of God.” What do you think?

He is God’s commoner lavished by common blessings,
He gets lost in a crowd,
He has no extraordinary wisdom,
Nothing that would attract people to him.

He gives hearty thanks for every little blessing,
The air he breathes in,
The monotonous present moment he is given,
The ordinary troubles of life’s coming and going.

He is convinced of God’s goodness,
He rejoices in everything,
He bears his crosses patiently,
Mindful of what his savior has suffered for him.

He does his duties cheerfully,
He is careful not to waste any grace,
He helps his neighbor in common unnoticed ways,
For the poor and needy his heart always has a place.

He takes nothing for granted,
He notices his weaknesses and humbly invites correction,
He presumes no closeness with God,
He adores God in reverent trust.

He quietly consecrates himself to God,
All his tenderness, his limits, his needs and wants,
He lays down his dreams,
Content with whatever God chooses to give him.

His heart is magnanimous for God,
He offers up his actions, however insignificant,
With a most generous smile,
He is happy with God.

God Bless You!!
