Holy Cards for Cell Phone--What's your opinion?

My wife, the parish secretary, forwarded me the news item below:

There is a company offering to send you wallpaper to your cell phone. The images are of the saints or Our Lady or of Jesus.

Personally, I don’t think there is anything wrong with having an image for my phone or computer’s wallpaper. A quantum leap better than the stuff out there for sale.

If I have a holy card icon on my phone, then I’m doing my part to evangelize.

Where they may be something wrong is in the commercialization of these cell phone images. If there is an objection to this practice, then there should be consistency–let there be no more sales of holy cards.

Me? My cell phone has a built in camera. I can take a pic of the holy cards I already have or of the statues and stained-glass windows at the church.

What do you think?
