"Homeless Jesus"

A famous sculpture of Christ as a homeless man. In the podcast, the artist says that 10% of his emails are opposed to it, or don’t get it.
I think it’s a good reminder. Here is the podcast with photos.

Jesus was a carpenter … he built houses.

We’re called to see Christ in everyone, especially the poor.

And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

Carpenter is actually a rough translation as I recall of the original term for Joseph and Jesus’s work, ‘skilled artisan’ might be a wee bit closer.

The priest who many years ago spoke at my mother’s funeral (and who has likely passed on now himself) once made the comment that unless you can see Christ in the beggar dressed in rags AND in the rich man driving an expensive car then you are failing at some level to understand the Christian message.
