How About a Latin Forum?

I’ve a suggestion. Why don’t we have a Latin forum? People could ask questions about pronunciation and what-not.

John

I am willing to re-learn my latin, and all help would be appreciated.

Pater noster, qui es in coelis: sanctificetur nomen tuum: adveniat regnum tuurm: fiat voluntas tua, sicut in coelo, et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie, et dimitte novis debita nostra sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem:
Sed libera nos a malo.
Amen

Quid moderati dicunt? Latinam amo! Sed id non bene dico.

Translation???

I think I got “Who would moderate it? I love Latin!” After that, I am lost.

He-tay oderator-may old-tay e-may oo-tay ost-pay y-may equest-ray ere-hay.

I suppose that means they’ll look at the suggestion.

But I got what you said in the first two sentences! You lost me on the last.

This question was asked [thread=49393]once upon a time[/thread] and the [post=593827]ultimate message[/post] on that thread gave a suggestion how to go about it.

But if this thread is an indication of a sea-change in policy, consider my vote *aye *

In fact, I have recently been expanding on my [post=1603994]List of Favorite Latin Self-Study Resources[/post] in order to post them to a new thread, in hopes that it might become a “sticky” resource for those who, from time to time, post in these fora looking for such things, and have been considering just *which *forum it ought be posted to.

Sed id non bene dico.
(But I don’t speak it well.)

I’d love a Latin Forum as well.

Pax vobiscum!

I think this is a great idea, JKirk! I love Latin too and I wish I could take a Latin class, but unfortunately with not wanting to stay in school longer than this spring and having only a few classes left before I graduate, I don’t know that I will be able to fit it into my schedule.

In Christ,
Rand

Greetings,

Count me in! :bounce: I’d love to have a Latin forum. I just picked up a book called “Latin made simple: A complete introductory course in classical Latin” by Doug Julius. I’m cirtainly willing to share whatever knowlege I have with others.

Pax Tecum,
Rocco

Okay, I couldn’t wait for a new forum, so I created a thread over in the Watercooler/Backfence, [thread=121562]LATIN: Language Study Resources[/thread].

So far it is the tee_eff_em show. Please feel free to add language learning resources.

I am in full support of a Latin Forum.

I wouldn’t understand a word that’s being said (minus root words), but it’s worth a shot. I love learning languages (even if it’s a dead one).
