How do we explain the Trinity?

#1

Hello - I have a question about the Trinity. I teach 10th grade Religious Education, and I’m blessed to have wonderful students. One of their questions was on the Trinity. Many of them believed in the Trinity - but some of them were just not sure about it. How can I effectively explain and teach this important part of our Faith in a meaningful way? Thank you so much for your help.

Hi Guy,

It looks like you have your hands full. I do hope you have a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. If you don’t, you need to get one. You can order one through:
shop.catholic.com

or by phone:
888 291 8000

The Catechism in #234 states: “The mystery of the Holy Trinity is the central mystery of the Christian faith and life……” You can also see what the early Church Fathers taught about the Trinity here: catholic.com/library/Trinity.asp.

The original Catholic Encyclopedia also has a large article on**%between%** it:
**
Blessed Trinity

** Fr. Vincent Serpa, O.P.
