How much can we do?

#1

I’m looking for information regarding our fallen nature. Do we, as humans, sinners, have the ability to accept God on our own? Is accepting God a grace of God? Is this grace extended to everybody? What does this entail about election, predestination, and other related matters?
Thanks.

Hi Spirithound,

We do not have the ability to accept God on our own. It takes God’s help for us to take the steps toward salvation. It also takes our cooperation with the grace of God. How God’s grace and free will work together is a question that has been discussed for centuries and is a frequent subject on this forum. It is a pretty safe bet that we will never be able to answer that question.

No, no, no

Is accepting God a grace of God?

Yes - it is entirely His doing, & partly ours

Is this grace extended to everybody? What does this entail about election, predestination, and other related matters?
Thanks.

Neither question can be adequately answered in brief
