How to answer the Greek Peter-Petros, Rock argument?

Many Protestants refuse to acknowledge that Jesus founded the Catholic church with Peter saying that Peter in Greek means Petros which means Rock. It gets frustrating trying to debate these people when I don’t know the proper answer. Please help.
