Hunter Biden cites coronavirus, wife’s pregnancy to avoid deposition until after Election Day

By Gregg Re

Hunter Biden’s attorneys have abruptly asked the Arkansas judge in his ongoing paternity case to postpone his scheduled March 11 deposition until after Election Day, saying the coronavirus outbreak, his wife’s “imminent due date” and “intense media scrutiny” all pose a risk of “personal endangerment” for the former vice president’s son.

Additionally, Biden’s legal team argues he should not be held in contempt for failing to turn over a slew of financial documents related to child support. Republicans have said the information could contain damaging evidence of the younger Biden’s overseas business dealings and possible corruption. . . .

. . . Coverage from various media outlets – including Fox News, The New York Times, NPR and The New York Post – has led to “physical risks and logistics difficulties with travel to Arkansas,” the motion continues.

It notes that Biden has already agreed to pay an undisclosed monthly amount of child support, retroactive to November 2018. That agreement came only after Independence County Circuit Court Judge Holly Meyer threatened to hold him in contempt, and led to a brief suspension in contempt proceedings. However, Meyer emphasized that she still had “insufficient” documentation to determine Biden’s financial capacity to support the child. . . . .

. . . The previous filing from 28-year-old Lunden Alexis Roberts’ legal team wasted little time in charging that Hunter Biden “continues to act as though he has no respect for this Court, its orders, the legal process in this state, or the needs of his child for support.” It argues that the court “should take some action that will make the defendant follow court orders and a believer in the rule of law.”

Specifically, Hunter Biden has not turned over information concerning his address, financial institutions he or his businesses use, a list of all the companies he “currently owns or in which he has an ownership interest and the state in which those companies are incorporated,” or a list of “all sources of income for the past five years.”

Additionally, the younger Biden has failed to produce a list of all “employers for the past five years,” an unredacted copy of his tax returns, deeds for properties he owns and tax documents for companies in which he has any ownership interest. . . .

. . . Lunden Alexis Roberts, a 28-year-old former stripper, sued Biden last May, alleging that he is the father of her 16-month-old baby — a fact since confirmed by DNA testing — and asked that he pay child support and cover her mounting legal expenses. Biden agreed to make monthly child support payments to Roberts in January

As Hunter Biden is set to skip his court appearance this week, his father, 77-year-old Joe Biden, remains on the campaign trail amid the coronavirus outbreak ahead of Super Tuesday 2.0.

This is a 50 year old man. It is being reported as if Joe has the love child and obligation. Trying to tie this to Joe Biden is irrational.

Trying to tie this to Joe Biden is irrational.

It is quite rational. If Joe got him his money using American tax dollars as influence (not just Burisma, but China etc.) I have a right to know.

What OTHER sources of income did Hunter have?
If it is so reasonable, put the income sources through to the court that is dealing with Hunter’s attempt to welch on his own kid that he publicly lied about being the father of (until the DNA test made Hunter out to be the liar that he is).

It LOOKS bad.

It needs to be investigated. You know that.

Far from bringing this being “irrational” . . . .

. . . It is ignoring this that would be irrational.

Well said, people need to get informed. We need to know about all of this, work at Burisma at Ukraine.

Afterall, the government changed hands and there is a terrible war going on.

We need FULL TRANSPARENCY.

It looks bad? Maybe! Like Billy Beer years ago which had nothing to do with Jimmy Carter.
I hope the GOP keeps this up. I think they are deaf to the fact that IMPEACHMENT was engaged in for weeks to prepare the nation for this kind of nonsense. The Congress stopping and starting as the poles come in? It all but confirms a continuation of using office and power to attack a political opponent. Nobody can miss that.
And at the same time the Dems have giant half hour speeches of material ready for prime time, about the hypocrisy of the GOP blocking the same kind of stuff with Trump kids.
WITH THE ADDED BONUS OF COVER FOR THE FACT THAT THEY WILL MAKE A CASE AGAINST THE TRUMP KIDS. Without the fallout( they made us do it)

Burisma represents a grain of sand selected from the beach. It is just what impeachment showed.
And I AM RIGHT AGAIN!!!
Johnson( who must have said ××××× this, my election is coming) cancelled the Subpoena as reported in the last hour while DEMOCRATS, lying in wait, to seek a different subpoena of the administration people, to learn just who and how the political hunt took place. The Impeachment had another purpose

I’m pretty sure that even if the case is delayed that there are plenty of other people whose actions one can examine to make election “news.” But I don’t think trying to make a contest of what the candidates associates may have done to be one that will have similar outcomes for the republican and democratic 2020 candidates.

It’s not as if he’s skimming a children’s charity, probably a smart move, we have yet to see the effects of the virus on an unborn baby!~

As we were told with the Russia collusion investigation, we need an investigation to be sure nothing was going on that was inappropriate. The precedent has been set. Sorry Hunter and Joe, but a serious investigation is warranted, and it cannot wait.

No. Not like “Billy Beer”.

Like using your position of power to help divert taxpayer funds to your family and friends after it has been out of the country in a non-transparent manner.

Money laundering of hard-earned US taxpayer dollars.

You guys have been trying to make such a case for a long time.

The truth is, the Trumps were making big money in these ways BEFORE political life.

But I am glad to see you now think those family dealings ALL need to be investigated.

Bring on the Biden Klan for investigation asap.
