I am really disappointed that I got low mark in the university entrance examination

#1

In my country, passing the university entrance examination is something important not only to the students themselves but also to their parents and their ancestry. I really want to die when I feel the dejection on my parents’s face. How can I continue to live? I want to come to God, but I can’t go to the church. I want to pray, but my mind doesn’t allow me to do. I want to do something but I don’t know what to do. Please help me, I am hopeless.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility
and Mother of Hope,
look upon anhphan
in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and
unchangeable, and, that
true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give

  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives
    of others.

Our Lady of Mental Peace,

  • Pray for us!
    Amen.

God always hears your prayer.

Call your priest, speak with him.

God does not care about our grades. You are a precious child of God.

Please, call the suicide hotline if you feel this way http://www.didihirsch.org/spc-vietnamese

Anhphan, dear, I know in your culture maybe grades are really important. I myself always put high expectations on myself for grades too, even though my parents were from a culture where they did not care so much about my grades and were pleased with just about everything I did.

It is so very, very important that you realize that YOU are not your grades and that Jesus doesn’t care about that.

There are many great saints who got poor grades. St. John Vianney who is the patron saint of priests did so poorly in school that he almost was not ordained. St. Andre Bessette and St. Bernadette Soubirous were regarded as being rather slow-witted. Blessed Solanus Casey, whom we here in the USA hope will soon be a saint, was not allowed to preach or hear confessions for years because he did so poorly at his priest studies.

All of these people still went on to do dazzling things for the Lord. Jesus obviously loved them very much. He loves you too.

You must never, ever despair because of grades or a failure. It is simply a chance to learn from your failure and see things in a different way, or take a different path. Pray to Jesus and ask him to guide you to the right path for you. Never, ever despair! This is so very important.

I will pray for you especially.

Jesus, Help Me Prayer

In every need let me come
to You with humble trust, saying:
Jesus, help me!

In all my doubts, perplexities,
and temptations:
Jesus, help me!

In hours of loneliness,
weariness, and trials:
Jesus, help me!

In the failure of my plans and
hopes, in disappointments,
troubles, and sorrows:
Jesus, help me!

When others fail me,
and Your grace alone
can assist me:
Jesus, help me!

When I throw myself
on Your tender Love
as a Father and Savior:
Jesus, help me!

When my heart is cast
down by failure, at seeing
no good come from my efforts:
Jesus, help me!

When I feel impatient,
and my cross irritates me:
Jesus, help me!

When I am ill, and my head
and hands cannot work and I am lonely:
Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness,
falls, and shortcomings of every kind:
Jesus, help me and never forsake me.
– Amen
