Thank you for being a Confirmation teacher. May many blessings come your way for the giving of yourself preparing candidates for this beautiful sacrament. I will lift you in prayer to the Holy Spirit.

I think you wanted this prayer.Best of luck with the Confirmation classes
Holy Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do you,
O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

I ask the Lord to help you to teach them that if they choose love and obedience to God,
and kindness towards others in loving others as they desire to be loved,
as Jesus told us to do,
then they will avoid sin,
as sin is choices against love of God and love of fellow human,
and against the love of self that Jesus means when He says, "love others as you love yourselves.

He is not speaking of a selfish love of self, but the love of respecting and recognising yourself as loved child of God and precious unique creation with an eternal destiny, just as is each other person. Sin is choices that are not-love.
Lord, above all help them to understand this about sin.

In Matthew 25 verses 31 - 46, Jesus speaks more of this love, making clear the consequences of love choices, and the consequences of choices that are not-love.
Please inspire these young people to choose for love and not sin, all the days of their life.
Thank You, Lord

Here are three mp3s of Scott Hahn on the "Journey Home". On one of them he goes in depth into sin. It is ver VERY good. I just can't remember which one. Sorry. But, all three are worth listening to, so here you go:
