Iconography Database

Does anyone know of any online resources that specialize in iconography? Such that I could search based on date, classification, image, location etc, etc

I’d love to find one too.

Great idea for one, you should start one. Maybe use Wikipedia as a model?

Maybe when I retire  Yes, Wiki would be a good way to do it.

Would this help? Iconography in general?
This is “icons”. Hmmm.

byzcath.org has a forum devoted to it.

I don’t generally read that one, but all in all, there are plenty of amazingly well educated persons there.

As a general caution, though, note that it is an eastern and not exclusively catholic forum–the snide comments about Orthodoxy often seen here, or the reference to either side as “schismatics” will bring swift response from moderators.

The other forums there are the source of much of what I’ve learned on various theological subjects.
