I’m a freshman in college and the nearest church is about a mile away from my dorm room. On weekends, the school transportation doesn’t start running until 11:00 or so. Right now, it’s pouring rain and thundering. If I choose to not walk to mass due to the rain, would I be committing a mortal sin?
If it's raining and the only way I can get to church is by walking, would it be a mortal sin to miss Mass?
That would be reason enough to stay home. But for the future, I advise you to have an umbrella, rain coat and rubbers for walking in the rain.
