Ill. lawmakers take first step to oust Blagojevich

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Illinois lawmakers took the first step Monday toward removing Gov. Rod Blagojevich from office as the disgraced Democrat hired a bulldog defense attorney known for taking cases to trial.

Amid the developments, President-elect Barack Obama said a review by his own lawyer shows he had no direct contact with the governor about the appointment of a replacement for his Senate seat, and transition aides "did nothing inappropriate."

This is good news. The “governor” of Illinois needs to be impeached or something since he obviously refuses to resign on his own. I personally think the “governor” of Illinois should do the right thing and resign on his own but if he’s not going to do that then we’re going to have to force him to step down. We can’t let an obviously corrupt politician stay in power.

This governor of ours, rarely does what is for the common good…it’s all about “where’s mine?”
