I have an important event coming up and still am struggling with my belief in God. It takes 5 Rosary/Chaplets in a row to calm my fears for 5 minutes. Please pray that I might preserve through this trial(or the trial goes away), and please pray that the event brings me closer, not farther from God.
Praying for your peace. May the Lord give you the strength to climb the mountain if he doesn’t move it.
Just my two cents, but it sounds to me like you could be suffering from scrupulosity and not so much actual doubt of Gods existence… Allow me to explain. Two things stuck out to me. For one, after going through some of your previous posts, I can see you seem to have a great desire to try and believe in God, which is great. The other thing is that you mentioned you have to pray 5 rosaries/chaplets exactly to calm down for five minutes. Obsession with certain numbers can be a sign of OCD, and a lot of Catholics with OCD tend to have scruples as a result (I myself being one of them). I would suggest looking into scrupulosity and it’s symptoms and see if you match up with the description. I could be totally wrong of course… But a few years back, before I knew I had OCD, I too struggled with belief in God and literally obsessed over it. I would search and search for answers and was constantly anxious but couldn’t calm down. I wanted to believe. So if you have any questions, message me and I’ll be glad to answer questions and give insight. Doubt isn’t always bad, in fact it can lead to a greater faith once overcome. Keep fighting.
Praying for your intentions.
O God, have mercy on this Your friend who is suffering. Amen.
Praying for you,.
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen
Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.
Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
