In all that we do, let us remember...

#1

Let us remember while discussing with each other to be charitable and to do so in love. Let us keep the prayer of St. Francis close to our hearts:

Lord, make us instruments
of your peace.
Where there is hatred
let us sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is discord, union;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.

Grant that we may not
so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood
as to understand;
To be loved as to love.

For it is in giving
that we receive;
It is in pardoning
that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are
born to eternal life.

Amen.

Thought this board could use it.

Thanks. Good thing you thought of posting that. I guess the whole of the forums could use this. Some of these threads get very heated. God Bless!

Good Prayer. I too started a thread (forum.catholic.com/showthread.php?t=22383) on trying to remember to use Christian Charity, (more directed a Catholics since it is a Catholic site and our responsibility to set the tone in my opinion).

And to add a little levity… nah, nah, nahnah, nah, I got my thread up first:p

But you actually did something constructive, like praying instead of just reminding!

Thanks for the prayer.

And a child shall lead them… and I don’t mean this as a put down…please… I noticed you are 16… we could all benefit from keeping in mind the prayer of St. Francis and your very wise insight. BTW, welcome to this forum!
God Bless, Annunciata:)

Great post! Might want to move it to the “Politics” forum!

There are those on this forum who vigorously defend their Catholic faith. And there are those who are here to try to convince us that the barque of Peter is full of holes and we should jump ship. I think that explains why we “just can’t get along.” But uncharitableness is sometimes in the eye of the beholder.

That’s cool. Just vigorously defend…and do so alongside an attitude of love.

This crazy guy named Yeshua thought it was pretty important. :wink:
