I’ve heard that the Sacred Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith in Rome is sometimes called the “Holy Office of the Inquisition”, especially among traditional Catholics. Is this correct?

Yes and no.

Yes, that is its original name. However, its name has been changed twice since then. It is not the correct name when referring to it today.
