Interment of Deceased Ashes directly into ground

Our Parish has a Garden of Remembrance.
In terms of internment of deceased ashes, can this be done directly into the ground, or must deceased ashes remain in an urn for burial purposes?
Does the above rule apply universally or not?

You would need to ask your Parish what their rules are with regard to the interment of ashes on their property. Some may allow you to dig a hole and pour the ashes directly in that hole, some may require a box or urn to be buried, some may only have a columbarium.

It depends in what country you live.
Some have laws regulating that.
