Is a sin to buy bootleg copy of movies?

Is it a sin to buy bootleg copies of movies recently released in the movie threatre?

If it is a sin is the sin, mortal or venial? I posted this question in the forums here but the CAF member wasn’t very convincing. I do think it is a sin that is venial, and that the one who produced the film has the greater sin than the one who bought it. Of course to make a sin mortal, it needs to meet all three, full acknowledgement, grave matter, and full consent.
