The title says is all. Is the/an Alleluia [with or without an acclamation verse] sung before the reading of the Gospel during Advent?
Yes, but if not sung it may be omitted.
is sung in every season other than Lent. The verses are taken from the Lectionary or the Graduale.
]During Lent, in place of the *Alleluia, the verse before the Gospel is sung, as indicated in the Lectionary. It is also permissible to sing another psalm or tract, as found in the Graduale.
I understand when the Gloria is not sung.
Sequences for Easter and Pentecost are mandatory, correct?
Sequences for [old style name] Corpus Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows are optional?
GIRM 64. The Sequence, which is optional except on Easter Sunday and on Pentecost Day, is sung before the Alleluia
.Proclamations: The Birth of Christ at Christmas, mandatory.
The Easter Proclamation (Exsultet!) is mandatory.
Litany of Saints: Easter?
At the Easter Vigil if there is a baptism, and at any Mass where there is a baptism.
Thank you for responding. I get a bit confused when I'm told by [not a priest] someone that some of these are prohibited, or mandatory, or up to you.
Please include references if you have them.
