Is Holy Communion complete if I only received from the chalice?

#1

I am a Cantor at our Church and this Sunday after I sang the Communion hymn I want to receive the Body and Blood but only the Blood was left. This is the very first time this has ever happen and I was worried that I did not actually receive the complete Body and Blood of our Lord. I know that if you receive the Body only that it is complete but is it the same for just receiving the Holy Blood? Thanks for your answer in advance.

Hi Mary,

If one receives only the host or only from the chalice one has received the Body and Blood of the Lord.
