Is it a mortal sin to forget to go to Mass?

Recently, I missed Mass on a Holy Day of Obligation because I forgot about it. Did I commit a sin?

You forgot. Sin requires deliberate choice.

No, you haven’t sinned.

Not saying you sinned, but to maybe help with remembering in the future, there is a publicly available Google calendar that covers most of the Holy Days of Obligation, though it does miss the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God on January 1. You can also add them yourself to any calendar app and set custom alerts to help remind you.

If it didn’t have your full consent, and your full knowledge, you’re not really responsible for it.

Print a list of the HDO’s and tape it to the inside of your front door.
