Is it a sin to go into a adult chat room

is it a sin to go into a adult chat room is it a sin

I haven't read any official statements on it, but it may be something like a near occasion of sin-- something so likely to lead to trouble, that you may be better off not going there, just to be safe.

To knowingly go into an adult chat room is siful...why else would a person deliberately go into an occasion of sin but to find what it offers...sexual gratification outside marriage.

2351** Lust *is disordered desire for or inordinate enjoyment of sexual pleasure. Sexual pleasure is morally disordered when sought for itself, isolated from its procreative and unitive purposes. *

2354 *Pornography *consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners, in order to display them deliberately to third parties. It offends against chastity because it perverts the conjugal act, the intimate giving of spouses to each other. It does grave injury to the dignity of its participants (actors, vendors, the public), since each one becomes an object of base pleasure and illicit profit for others. It immerses all who are involved in the illusion of a fantasy world. It is a grave offense. Civil authorities should prevent the production and distribution of pornographic materials.

I don’t know of any official statement.

That being said, can you face Our Lord, in that room?

Remember it ALWAYS ALWAYS comes down to, Can YOU face GOD with a compete freedom of guilt of conscienceness?

If you can’t face Him, big chance you are playing with sin and wanting to get away with it.

God Bless

I would imagine it would be sinful, based on what I know. You would either enter that room with the intention to arouse someone else, or to get yourself aroused. The only other alternatives would be 'morbid curiosity', which would probably still not be a good idea, or you were trying to catch a sex offender, which is just a bad idea as well.

Just stay away from all things labeled 'adult'! No 'adult' phone calls, chat rooms, movies, etc. It just can't lead to any good.
