Is it okay to receive the Eucharist with one hand?

I am oftentimes carrying my young daughter when I go to Communion. Is it okay to receive the body of Christ with just one hand or would it be better for me to receive on my tongue?

If you cannot put your daughter down (e.g., she’s not yet at the walking stage) so you can receive Communion in both hands, then you should receive Communion on the tongue. When Communion is received in the hand, it is presumed that the hands are not occupied with other functions but can be devoted completely to the purpose of receiving Communion. If that is not the case, then the default should be to receive on the tongue.
