Is the Mass really a sacrifice?

I have a family bible around the house and I recall it had somewhere a order of mass with pictures (circa 1960) and it referred to mass a a holy sacrifice, my Lutheran friend says that’s Jesus was sacrificed once making the complete name for mass erroneous, so my question is:Is Mass a Sacrifice if so why is it called this since Jesus was sacrificed once.
