Is this a sin?

Hi, I’m a novice writer, and I have a question.

Is including sex scenes in your stories a sin?

I don’t write porn (and I have absolutely no interest in doing that) I write adventure stories.

So, I just wanted to know if writing small sexual scenes between two characters is a sin?

Hmmmm keep it PG so to say. I discuss sex & sexuality in my history classes, at that level, when discussing Islam, Puritanism, Rome or the propaganda leaflets the Germans dropped on our troops in WW2. Consider the good old movie style of showing a sunrise. “when he awoke she smiled”

Thanks for your help. Come to think of it, the movie style suits my story better then what I initially had in mind.

you probably need to study the needs of whatever market / publisher you’re writing for.

I think I will keep it PG-13 at most.

I think if I write what I originally had in mind, I will feel tempted to write more graphic stuff, and I don’t want to go down that spiral.

I’m going to consult with my publisher.

I don’t know what kind of publisher you have or what kind of stories he/she likes but I was considering writing a couple of children’s books. Do you have any ideas on how I can get started?? I have written the plot line and came up with the characters names. But that is as far as I got. I don’t know how many pages it would take to make a child’s book?? What software do you use for writing?? I would appreciate your advice. Thank you.

Well, like I said, I’m also a new writer-let me see what I can do

Well, Amazon has a sort of self-publisher thing where you can publish your story as an e-book.

Or, you can Google some publishers, and email them about your story. I’m sure there are lots of websites that can help you in regards of how to write a proffesional email. (I’m haven’t done this part yet.)

Is your story completed? If you’ve typed it up, you might want to run through spellcheck (although you probably have). Also, you can get a proffesional editor to check for tiny mistakes and for advice on the plotline and characters. For now, I just have a really close friend who’s also an English teacher.

For page length, that depends on what kind of children’s book. Is it a picture book? Becuase they don’t have much pages. On the other hand, children novels like the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan or Warriors by Erin Hunter have about 350 pages each.

That’s all I can think of right now-I hope I helped in some way.
