Japan earthquake and tsunami

Lets remember our members, Catholic and non-Catholic alike in our prayers.

Japanese town (Rikuzentakata) has been wiped off the map, yesterday when I watched that news I immediately remembered Sodom and Gomorrah…

Now whether that was because of our sins or it was a natural event, I pray for GOD’s WORD second coming ASAP because this earth is really frustrating. :frowning:

Please GOD’s WORD come back ASAP, please please please. :gopray2:

Tragic I watched the news all day yesterday, the US and Hawaii were fortunate.

The Natural Distasters since 1990 have skyrocketed.

Our sins since 1990 have also skyrocketed…

Thee O Lord, raise the highest mountains and fill the valleys. The whole earth speaks of thy majesty and power.

Be mindful, O Lord, of the great suffering and sorrow of thy people of Japan and elsewhere, believers and non-believers alike, in these days and times.

Guide, deliver and protect them from further danger, misfortune and fearsome terrors.

Into thy hands, 0 Lord, we commend the souls of thy children and thy servants., and beseech thee to grant them rest in the place of thy rest.

Lord have Mercy!
Lord have Mercy!
Lord have Mercy!

Be mindful, O Lord, of those who travel by land, by sea, and by air; of the old and young, the sick, the suffering, the sorrowing, the afflicted, the captives, the needy and the poor; and upon them all send forth Thy mercies, for Thou art the Giver of all good things.

Glory to Thee, O our God, glory to Thee!

Amen to the prayers and intentions…I have grown up with Japanese Americans and worked with Japanese exchange students, having lived on the West Coast. Such wonderful people…so polite and mannerly.

May Christ draw them to His heart.

Praying for all affected by the Japan earthquake and tsunami.

My nephew spent 5 years in Japan and said the people there were very respectable and kind. He really loved living there.

**Psalm 46: **
1God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
2Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
3though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling.

Eternal God, through your Son Jesus Christ, I pray your peace and protection over all the people in Japan. Please bring help swiftly and soften our hearts that we may faithfully pray, and give as we are able, to help all those in need. Amen

must be a horrifying thing to die in a tsunami…

may victims R.I.P.

Anyone hear about the 5- Nuclear reactors? I hear ones leaking?

Geez, My Prays are with them!

Eleven years ago, my family hosted an exchange student from Tokyo. Aya now lives in Hawaii, and has spoken to her parents, who are apparently uninjured. I don’t know anything more.

BTW, they are a Catholic family.

“Watch O Lord with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give Your Angels and Saints charge over those who sleep. Tend Your sick ones, dear Lord, rest Your weary ones, bless Your dying ones, soothe Your suffering ones, pity Your afflicted ones, shield Your joyous ones, and all for Your Love’s sake.”
(St. Augustine)

Heavenly Father, in your mercy, look with compassion upon the people of Japan. Bring them comfort and peace in the midst of this tragedy. Send your Spirit upon this land and heal the broken hearted. We pray that all of those who’s lives have been lost may rest in your arms, through the merits of your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Oh this is so refreshing! Over at Christian Forums there are a bunch of people wondering what the Japanese did to deserve God’s wrath! Catholics seem much more merciful.

Praying for the victims of the Japan earthquake and tsunami…:gopray2:

Hail Mary, full of grace
The Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art thou among women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

I add my prayers to the prayers of all here. Amen. :signofcross:

Most merciful and compassionate God,
Giver of Life and Love,
hear our prayers
and let our cries come unto you.

We weep with your people in Japan
We hear the cries of orphaned children and laments of bereaved parents
We feel the desperation of those searching for loved ones
We behold the silence of vanished villages.
We see the devastation.
We are overwhelmed by the enormity of it all.
Our hearts are hushed, our minds are numb.
Let not our hands be stopped, our voices dumb.

God of the universe,
Open our hearts to feel your compassion
Galvanize in us the act of continued giving
Bond us to our sisters and brothers in need
Comfort and heal the injured, the bereaved, the lost
Strengthen the aid workers and medical personnel
Bolster the resolve of governments and those with power to help
Open through this tragedy pathways to partnerships and peace
In Your Name of mercy and healing and compassion we pray,
