John 14:6 and the Southern Baptist

“…no one comes to the father except through me”.

My Southern Baptist friends are all about Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. They want to be in heaven with Jesus and that is all the ever talk about.

But, don’t we really want to be in heaven with God? Isn’t that our goal? We must first believe in Jesus, but through Him we achieve the ultimate goal…in heaven with God. It seems to me that they are missing the point.

From the old Baltimore Catechism:
Q. Why did God make you?
A. God made me to know Him, to love Him, and to serve Him in this world, and to be happy with Him for ever in heaven.

Any thoughts?

Dear friend,

I don’t see a problem since we believe that Jesus IS God, He is the Second Person of the Holy Trinity.
