John Paul II and Francis De Sales - what did they have in common?

[LEFT][/LEFT]Both John Paul II and Francis de Sales emphasized a universal call to holiness. They also spoke of God’s love and interest in each one of us. And they both traveled much to reach their flock.
The Salesian expert, John Sankarathil, OSFS, says that Bl. John Paul II “articulated Salesian convictions in his homilies, which he delivered during his visits to France in October 4-7, 1986 as well as in his letter on the fourth centenary of the Episcopal ordination of Saint Francis de Sales.”
