Ok, so Jehovah’s Witnesses have said that there is a pagan origin to Easter. My response has usually been “well, I don’t believe in the Easter Bunny, but Easter is celebrating Jesus’ resurrection and the end of the lenten season”. But their response is only “If you do some research, you’ll see that Easter has a pagan origin.” I have yet to see any research that says so. Does anyone know what the JWs could be referring to?
The word “Easter” does have pagan origins. So what! The celebration of Easter has Christian origins. So we are redeemed!
