“In sum, anyone complaining that Brett Kavanaugh is being treated unjustly should have the courage to look again at the American bishops’ Charter for the Protection of Young People (Dallas Charter) and how priests have been similarly treated.”
A brace man!
Is there no policy of investigating allegations against priests? Or does a mere accusation lead to permanent suspension?
No, there is investigation, of course.
Well, here is the way that such matters are supposed to be handled. But I’m not sure if the Dallas Charter is fully in accord with Canon Law on the matter. It seems that currently priests have very little protection, and are immediately suspended from ministry when any allegation is filed.
