“… try to go along with the Savior, live with him, let him be an actual man, half divine, of course, but nevertheless moving as a man moved in those days.” (Behold the Lamb of God, p. 8.)
Of course all Mormons believe in His divinity. He is just explaining that we are talking about His humanity as a way of relating to Christ. How are we supposed to relate to Jesus’s divinity when we don’t see ourselves as divine?
As I said above the LDS Church is in the process of purging false thoughts and beliefs that man came up with in an attempt to explan God scientifically.McConkie and Talmage were a brilliant minds when it came to trying to marriage science with faith. However they drew some very wrong conclusions. The above document that you claim is not what mormons believe is one of only two officially published declarations given by the LDS leaders in I don’t know how many years, the other was on the family. These are the absolute most official and recent declarations of faith the Mormon people have. These are what God gave to them after much discussion and seeking the influence of the Holy Spirit. These are what mormons must believe to call themselves Mormon.
The Mormon church, now the LDS are trying to purge themselves of its false doctrine. First by ignoring it, then publishing it and saying this is what history tells us of it. One day in order for the church as an organization to truly repent they must apologize and set things staight. The old guard must die before this happens and it will in God’s time. But it is happening. My local leaders have no problem with me pointing out the churches flaws and my desire for leadership to make a full confession and repentance. However I acknowledge that they are already trying to do this the best they can.
It is really hard for a person or organization to change when people and other orginizations are constantly pointing out their sins and only judging them by their past sins. The Catholics don’t like it when I point out their past sins and judge them only by that. They don’t like it when I say they believe things they don’t believe like they pray to Mary and saints instead of God or that they worship idols.
I am begging you please do not continue to point out our past sins, we all have them. We are told by God to stop judging and condemning each other, He also teaches that we must forgive others if we are to also be forgiven. Please do not continue to sin by judging us and not forgiving us.
