OK just my little unimportant take on all of this as far as we do in our churches here, ONLY OF Masses:
Our Priest always reads Gospel (Deacon has read Gospel before when he helped Father at Mass) we have a Deacon but due to ill health he doesn’t assist at Mass as he used to.
Our Priest always gives the homily unless there is a guest priest from a mission or another religious from that type of organization.
Our priest is the only one who gives out Holy Communion unless we have an especially large crowd for a special occasion then he will ask a Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to help him.
Priest is the only one who cleans the vessels (except in the past when deacon was assisting, he did that) and when finished Father gives to the altar servers who place everything on the Credence Table.
Lay people NEVER clean the vessels at the altar or place our Lord back in the Tabernacle, NEVER.
The ONLY things an assigned lay person does at our Masses besides respond and sing from the pews are: Read the Entrance Antiphon if not sung, the Readings, Responsorial Psalm if not sung , Prayers of the Faithful, the Communion Antiphon if no song sung. That’s it.
We have been blessed with the priests we’ve had. Some have done ? things and we at one time had Extra Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion at every Mass in the past but that has stopped.
I’m sorry for those whose Masses may have questionable things added or changed.
