A hypothetical ;
It is World War One.
On one team you have German and Austrian Catholics , on the other team you have French, Italian, English and American Catholics.
Except this isn’t a football game. The other team is shooting at you, and have shot people you know, like, even love.
You get taken prisoner , and wind up in a P.O.W camp.
Now the only priest or religious available to you in this cage is wearing the uniform of the team that shot your loved ones.
If that were not bad enough, this person is convinced their team is good, and your team is bad, he is a great fellow on account of it, and shame on you.
Now this may be a hypothetical in this case, but , in reality , it happens every day.
Did you, do you, expect something different ?
Is this Church thing just another high school , with its cliques and popularity contests and cronies ?
On a personal note, in brief, I am obliged , , due to family obligations , to remain in a country I pretty much detest, whether I would or no. That is every day, all day, 365 days a year. And going to Church is no vacation from it.
Welcome to Hell. But, of course, the citizens of this country will tell you it is Disneyland .
( Why should we even go to Heaven when we have Disneyland ? )
They speak of mercy and charity, but how it always seems to play out in practice , is that it is charity and mercy for those who suck at their states knee caps. Not for those they , not I , define as the other side, the other team, the enemy. ( And guess who that is ? )
I suppose though, in North Korea it is pretty much the same story ; Jesus was a North Korean don’t you know ?
" GOTT MIT UNS " !
Perhaps I should envy you , as , presumably, for you it is only a matter of leaving a building ?
Amen to that !
