Making your sin sound worse than it is

There’s a Catholic Church near my work, and I try to go once a week now. I’ve been good about going more regularly, and I’m not as nervous anymore to go. I love it.

Not sure if I’m being scrupulous, but sometimes if I lie not necessarily intentionally but as an example - if I’m not sure about something and answer with a positive response (I would think that’s a lie), can I confess that as lying? Or sometimes if I tell my mom or someone that I’m gona go somewhere, and then I don’t end up going. Should I still confess? Or is that being scrupulous

if it is intentional, it is a sin and should be confessed. iow, you are going to a party, and don’t want your mom to know, so you tell her you’re going to a friends house.
