Mary Matthew 1:17

What is the catholic translation for this verse?

I just read the verse, and I’m not sure I understand your question. The list of names may not be exhaustive, but Matthew uses the number fourteen to emphasize Jesus’ connection to King David.

It seems that GOD attaches some important meaning to specific numbers.

3, 7, 14 you can find these numbers repeated throughout the Bible.

It can be dangerous however to try to read more that what is explicit. Because a deviation (a common one) is trying to use these numbers in divination (Numerology), or prediction of the future, all practices, expressly forbidden in that same Bible.

NRSV Catholic Edition:

*So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David to the deportation to Babylon, fourteen generations; and from the deportation to Babylon to the Messiah, fourteen generations. *

Footnote for the word “Messiah” says : or the Christ.

Can you please explain what you actually want to know. Its not clear from your question.
