Mass Intention: What can they be?

I have a question about Mass intentions. For what intentions can a Mass be offered? I usually hear for the repose of someone’s soul, but could it be anything that I would want prayer for? Thanks.

Yes, you can have a Mass offered for any intention. It can be for a deceased person, a living person or a “special intention.” You don’t need to tell what the “special intention” is.

Since the Mass is a prayer, anything you could pray for is fair game. Yourself, someone else (living or passed), a worthy cause (the pro-life movement, more vocations, improved economy). Something dear to your heart, and in accord with God’s will.
