May we ever receive Holy Communion after a vasectomy?

In our last weekly bulletin, our priest mentioned that it was improper to take communion if you were using contraception. Well, my husband had a vasectomy years ago when we were both somewhat estranged from the church. I have now returned and am quite active in the faith. However, upon seeing what was just written in our church bulletin, I’m afraid I am not eligible to be receiving communion.

What does one do in this situation?

Thank you for your help.

If he has hasn’t confessed this and received absolution, he needs to do so. Then he may receive Holy Communion. You may also receive. No reversal surgery is required.
