Just about the only thing a Protestant can’t do while attending Catholic liturgical services is receive the Eucharist. You’re certainly welcome to participate otherwise.

If you are in the spirit of the season, you might want to consider attending an Easter Vigil Mass on Saturday evening. Call a local church for the Mass time. It is a profoundly moving and very striking service. It is also somewhat longer than the average Sunday Mass.

There are no restrictions on who can venerate the cross (other than that a person has to be willing to do so.)
