Michigan Poll: Joe Biden Crushing Bernie Sanders by 24 Points

I am surprised by this.

If I recall correctly Sanders beat Hillary in Michigan last time.

Addendum: Checked it and Sanders DID beat Hillary there. 598,943 to 581,775 (67 to 63 delegates).

I have always thought of Biden as a weaker candidate than even Hillary. Much weaker.

Maybe the Michiganders just are not feeling the Bern any more?

Or maybe the polls are wrong?

Former Vice President Joe Biden boasts a 24-point lead over Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) going into Tuesday’s Michigan Democrat presidential primary contest, a poll released on Monday shows.

The Detriot Free Press survey, conducted EPIC-MRA, finds Biden leading Sanders 51 percent to 27 percent with likely Democrat primary voters. A win in Michigan would likely clinch the Democratic nomination for the former vice president . . . .

Maybe Biden’s appeal is strongest in this part of the country where he worked to turns around many of their fortunes in the most uncertain period of their lives. Didn’t talk about it. He was there, it happened, and they remember

I think the media is actively pushing back on ‘socialism’ and it’s taking the wind out of Bernie’s sail.

You could very well be right.

I have noticed an implicit but real,
deep divide among the leftist media elites over
establishment Democrat “theology” vrs.
more overt Socialist statism.

Chris Matthews was put out in part because he was willing to take on socialists (specifically Bernie) who threatened the establishment Democrat paradigm (my opinion).

It will be interesting viewing pieces from the leftist media the next several days or weeks (if Bernie doesn’t drop out after the Michigan Democrat primary projected loss tomorrow).

Maximus 1,

I’ve lived in Michigan all my life and I’ve never heard Mr. Biden’s name ever mentioned by anyone because he turned around somebody’s “fortune (much less “many” people’s fortunes) in the most uncertain period of their lives.” Apparently, “he didn’t talk about it” and no one else is either. But you assure us that “he was there” (Where? In Michigan? When was that? What was he doing here?), and that “they remember” (Remember what? Who’s “they”?).

If Michiganders are talking about Joe Biden it’s because he’s a politician in the news running for office, not because he’s helped us. We can help ourselves thank you very much and we’re not asking for Joe Biden’s help - at least not as far as I know. Maybe some members of the democratic party or some union folks asked for his help for one of their issues - and that might count for something, I guess - but as far as some kind of general nonpartisan support for the people of Michigan, I can’t think of a single thing that Mr. Biden has done for this state that has any people talking. I’d love to know what you think he’s done for Michigan.

The party has a probem though - a socialist or someone who seems confused and not on top of his
game?

All else equal, I’ll take the guy with the better foreign policy.

All else equal, I’ll take the guy with the better foreign policy.

Yeah but he is running basically unopposed in the REPUBLICAN primary.

Just kidding Pro.

Who do you think has the better foreign policy?

Bernie or Joe?

Michiganders remember Joe, a lot of them my age. Fiscally conservative democrats that remember when their auto jobs were at stake, translated loosely he actually did something for us…saved jobs. We remember.

You mean when he voted for NAFTA? How did that save jobs?

The bailout was bipartisan, nobody had to ram it through.
