The South Korean Labor Ministry is being criticized after it posted sexist job interview guidelines for female job applicants online. Among its suggestions:
] tell potential employers that they don’t mind jokes about sex
] tell potential employers that they have no intentions of getting married because most women quit their jobs after tying the knot and most employers don’t want to hire women who plan on getting married
After facing criticism on the Internet and from women’s rights NGOs, the ministry deleted the post on Friday, saying it will consider “educating all of its employees about gender equality.”
South Korea ranks at the bottom of OECD countries in employing women with university degrees.
