Missing Holy Mass Question

Hello,

Hypothetical:
A family member invites you to go on a trip together, on a Sunday. You attend Mass, but this person will culpably be missing it, due to the trip.
Since the Church rightfully makes this precept, would you be in guilt by association?

God bless you

Insight greatly appreciated

Thank you

The answer is no. Each of us is responsible for our own decisions. If he is able to attend but decides not to, that is up to him and him alone. You can certainly encourage him to attend with you, but if he decides not to, that’s on his conscience not yours.

No.

Assuming the other person is Catholic, you should probably remind them that they should attend Mass. Otherwise, maybe a minor sin of omission in not taking the opportunity to do so. But it is still their decision to attend or not.
