More than 35 million people around the world are trapped in slavery, according to a report put out today by Australian NGO The Walk Free Foundation. The report, which can be found here, highlights the prevalence of forced labor, human trafficking, forced marriages, and commercial sexual exploitation.

India, China, Pakistan, Russia, and Uzbekistan account for 61 percent of all slavery, according to the report, but slavery is found in every country, including the US and the UK.

What are we to do about forced marriages though? We are dealing with young men and women who are indoctrinated into not trusting us…

This is horrific and must be stopped. Some slavemasters try to justify enslaving people by claiming that slavery was allowed in the past and that members of the clergy held slaves.
