HOW TO MAKE A TWO SIDED LONG STRIP OF PAPER HAVE ONLY ONE SIDE
A sheet of paper has 2 sides.
To make a Moebius get or make a strip of paper only 1 inch wide and 11 inches long.
On one side of the paper write " AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" from one end to the other.
On other side of the paper write “BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB” from one end to the other.
NOW, JOIN THE ENDS OF THE PAPER TOGETHER SO THAT IT IS SHAPED LIKE A CIRCLE.
IF you joined the two ends A to A, the loop of paper will have 2 sides, namely SIDE AAAAAAAAA and Side BBBBBBBB. .
But if you joined the two ends A to B by giving the paper a half twist, THE LOOP OF PAPER WILL ONLY HAVE ONE SIDE. This loop with only one side is called a MOEBIUS CURVE in mathematics.
(you can glue the two ends together )
An ant for example can walk contineously and will go from AAAAAAAAAAA TO BBBBBBBBBB TO AAAAAAAAA TO BBBBBBBBBB FOREVER!!! But the ant will think it is only on one side of the paper!!! Which is true because the moebius curve transformed the two sided strip of paper into a loop that only has one side.
(If you have difficulty understanding my explanation or were successful at making the moebius curve, let me know by posting a message. Thanks.
