Most traditional parish near Janesville, WI?

The title pretty much says it all. Moving to the Janesville area and am looking for a parish with a tradition minded priest, doesn’t even have to necessarily celebrate TLM, although Latin OF would be cool. Thanks in advance for any pointers!

I believe you would be under the Diocese of Madison. So check with your diocese.

and check on this website as well, to check on a TLM parish or a parish that offers the TLM.

Sadly there are no FSSP parishes in WI. The closest one to you is in Rockdale IL, near Chicago.

It looks like I might have to travel a bit if I want to attend a TLM

Fr. Heilman is at St. Mary’s in Pine Bluff.

Assuming it is the Madison diocese: Cross Plains, Fennimore, Lancaster, Mazomanie, Paoli (Belleville), Platteville and Roxbury were all listed as having the EF; I don’t know how often the list is updated. If you need more info, PM me.

For a church in Janesville itself, I recommend St John Vianney

Those are not near Janesville. There is also a Latin Mass in Madison itself which would be the closest one to Janesville.

yes, he’s a great priest! I’ve seen him through YouTube. don’t personally know him.

he even celebrates the ordinary form of the Mass ad orientem (facing the altar).

St. Mary’s in Pine Bluff is 1 hour away from Janesville, but I think its worth it if you’re planning to go to a TLM once a week.

I have not been to any of the other churches listed there and cannot comment, but I actually have been to the St. Norbert Church in Roxbury, and it is definitely what I would call “traditional” though I suppose what counts as “traditional” may vary from person to person.

It would be a bit of a drive, but then again basically everything on that list is a bit of a drive for you. It does have the benefit of its Latin Mass being fairly late, at 11AM, which would be beneficial if you’re driving for an hour to get there.

The city of Madison was not listed when I last ran the list, and I have no idea how often it is updated. Thank you for updating.

Fr Z says the TLM often at St. Mary’s of Pine Bluff.
