Many of you may not be aware that once upon a time MTV played nothing but music videos (hence the name).
Yes, it’s true!

And once upon a time, MTV had an awesome show called "120 Minutes," which they saw fit to bring back. Unfortunately, they brought it back with very little (if any) fanfare and buried it on the MTV2 channel - alas, not the same thing.

That's so... Music Television.

A little off-topic: is it me or is Pat Benatar the American version of Kate Bush?

Yes! I remember. Duran Duran videos were great!

I have the dubious distinction of being one who was watching MTV the moment it came on the air.

I stopped watching after they got rid of Headbanger's Ball and started showing porn.

Our cable provider didn’t have MTV when it first premiered. But I do remembering the preview of “Thriller” and all of us gathering around a tv to watch the full video. Wasn’t it close to 15 minutes or something?
