Must a priest wear his stole when

he hears confessions? Sometimes, confessions are heard by a priest at my local parish who doesn’t wear the purple stole when he hears them. Is the confession still valid?

The stole is a symbol of the priesthood and it is normal for the priest to wear one during the sacraments. However, it does not invalidate the sacrament if he fails to do so.

SuscipeMe is right: it is definitely valid. You might be interested in the recent discussion about that question here on Father Z’s blog.
