My Grandma

#1

My grandma has been having some heart issues. I guess she has congenital heart failure and a leaking valve. They aren’t sure if she’s going to make it through the weekend. Please pray for her. She’s 85. It’s hard for me because my family usually lives to at least 90. She has some issues though from have Scarlet Fever or something when she was younger that hardened her heart. Also, please pray for my grandpa. He’s 90, but he’s doing better than she is. It’ll really hit him hard when she does go.

Can Scatlet Fever do that! I didn’t know. I had Scarlet Fever when I was four.

I’m really sorry about your Grandma, and the sadness you feel.
I’ll keep her and your Grandpa in my weekend Masses. I ask Jesus to be very present to you all with His gentle heaing love.

Scarlet fever can do different things depending on what part of the body it attacks I think. She also had really bad whooping cough for years as a kid.

I was in ICU for 10 days, so I guess I was one of the lucky ones. The illness seems very rare now.
Since I’m back on your thread, will add a few prayers.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now
and at the hour of our death. Amen

Trishie, I just wanted to let you know I was mistaken. She had rheumatic fever, not scarlet fever.

Yes, sadly that can damage the heart.
I do hope your grandma is beginning to improve.
Dear Jesus please strengthen, bless and comfort her and her family.

They don’t expect her to get any better. My two sisters, bil, husband, and I went to see her this morning. She knew who we all were, even though she has only seen my husband once I think. I guess that’s a good sign. She also still has her sense of humor. It was just really hard seeing her like that. Then we came home for my niece’s fifth birthday party. It was kind of a weird day.
