My Grandma

Hello Everyone, I was just hoping to request prayers for my grandmother, who suddenly declined in health, is laying in the hospital with less than a day to live. She can’t speak, I just hope that she chooses the right way as she passes. While I know Jesus was important to her, I don’t know exactly where she stood spiritually. I was just hoping to request prayers that she believes in Jesus, her loved ones can find a way through this, and we see her at the resurrection of the just. In Jesus’ name. Thanks

It is not for us to assess her merits or speculate on God’s judgement, so please do not fret over that. Rely on God’s great mercy, and pray.

If you are able to be present at her bedside, pray familiar prayers aloud with her (Our Father, Hail Mary… keep it simple, and no fretting!). She cannot speak but perhaps can follow along. That might be the greatest gift you can give her at this time. Perhaps also read something from one of the more hopeful Gospel passages or Psalms about God’s love and protection.

If you are not able to be with her, let us pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory be to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

I will say a Divine Mercy chaplet for your grandmother. God bless.

Panem nostrum quotidiánum da nobis hódie, et dimítte nobis débita nostra sicut et nos dimíttimus debitóribus nostris. Et ne nos indúcas in tentatiónem, sed líbera nos a malo. Amen.

Ave María, grátia plena, Dóminus tecum. Benedícta tu in muliéribus, et benedíctus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta María, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatóribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostræ. Amen.

Lifting your grandma up to our Lord.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.
