I highly recommend AA. I am a recovering alcoholic and AA has taught me a new way of life. All you need is “a desire to stop drinking” it is a “day at a time program” I’ll be praying for you both

#4

*Prayers for all who struggle with alcoholism. May you follow the path God illuminates for you towards recovery. *

Praying fervently for you and your husband and all those who suffer from alcoholism and substance abuse. I highly recommend checking out the Calix Society, which is a group of Catholic AAs, and the AA group on this forum. The Calix Society supports AA, but is not affiliated with it since AA does not affiliate itself with any outside enterprise. I also recommend reading the story of Sister Ignatia, “the angel of AA,” a nurse who worked with Dr. Bob in Akron in the early years.

Lord Jesus, through the intercesson of St. Maximilian Kolbe, give healing to those suffering from alcoholism and help them heal the wounds of their past. Amen.

I ask that the Holy Trinity intervene in your lives and gives you the strength to face and overcome your demons. Try to attend daily mass and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you will God’s grace. Make yourselves a temple worthy of God.

I pray for you.

#15

Jesus please give Your kind and strong support to this couple, so that they find and follow effective means to overcome and control their addiction.

God bless you for your humility and honesty.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus
Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was
conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the
Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius
Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell; the third day He
rose again from the dead; He ascended
into heaven, is seated at the right hand of
God the Father Almighty; from thence He
shall come to judge the living and the
dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the
Holy Catholic Church, the communion of
Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the
resurrection of the body, and life
everlasting. Amen.

I am praying for you and your husband.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now
and at the hour of our death. Amen
