I think the title says it all. Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu writes about his work in the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission designed to bring justice and peace to South Africa at the end of the Apartheid period. Through God’s help, he chronicles the ups and downs of creating the commission and the realization that a way needed to be found to end the cycle of revenge. He does not gloss over the problems he experienced, and it is a testament to the power of forgiveness to read about terrible crimes and about families who forgave some of those responsible for the brutal murders of their family members.
This is not a new book but I would recommend it.
